If you look at the bike from close, you will see that the 42 Bobber’s front end is based on the design of the Yezdi Roadster while the rear continues to use the elements of the Jawa Perak.
It has been launched at a price tag of Rs 2.06 lakh ex-showroom for the single-tone Mystic Copper colour option. The Moonstone White colour is available for Rs 2.07 lakh while the dual-tone colour variant of Jasper Red with White is priced at Rs 2.09 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi.

Jawa 42 Bobber is positioned as a lifestyle motorcycle for the young generation and cannot serve as a bike for all purpose. One can get an aftermarket pillion seat installed on the 42 bobber for carrying a pillion.

Jawa Perak
The Perak is a long-wheelbase single seat bobber. The wheelbase of the Perak is 1485 mm which is achieved by increasing the length of swingarm. In the Forty-two and 300, the wheelbase stands at only 1369 mm marking a substantial increase. It is available only in Black colour option.
In Jawa Perak you will find a monoshock rear suspension while the front end comes with similar telescopic forks that are also seen on the Forty-two and Jawa 300. Settings of the suspension are similar and offers comfortable ride. In fact, the front half of the Jawa Perak is a straight lift from the other two bike sin the company’s line-up. It’s only the rear part which is significantly different than either forty-two or 300.
Being a single seat bobber and fitted with a monoshock, the rider’s seat is suspended in the air and is connected directly to the subframe of the bike. At present, the company is not offering any kind of pillion seat as an accessory. However, with time, the aftermarket accessories industry will get you a pillion seat but safety cannot be trusted on aftermarket parts.
Jawa Perak is powered by a bored-out version of the standard Jawa’s engine. This now offers a displacement of 334cc. With additional cylinder displacement comes the extra power and thus this motor is tuned to develop a maximum power of 30 bhp and peak torque is rated at 32.74 Nm. There is no mention about the engine rpm on the Jawa’s official technical specification sheet or on the website. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission same as other two Jawa bikes.
In the classic motorcycles segment, the Perak is officially most powerful bike you can buy today. Other bikes like Royal Enfield’s 350cc bikes, Benelli Imperiale, Honda CB350 all develop far less power and torque figures. Also, the performance of the Perak is greater and livelier than the competition making it a powerful highway cruiser. Royal Enfield Himalayan is the bike which comes closer in terms of peak torque output.
The bobber gets same instrument panel offering nothing extra to the rider. The console is semi-digital in design on a single-pod unit. A reverse sweep speedometer, fuel gauge and an odometer are all you get to rely upon. There were quite a few speculations that updated BS6 Jawa Perak might offer extra features on the cluster but nothing came as we know. The bike features a round headlight with halogen bulb instead of LED that other bike makers are offering.

This full-digital meter provides all the functionality like speedometer, odometer, tachometer, trip-meters, fuel gauge, gear position indicator, instantaneous and average fuel efficiency and more.
The suspension setup consists of USD forks at the front and a pro-link monoshock at the rear which is tuned for a balanced ride quality. BMW G310 GS
BMW has another offering for the riders looking for some adventure. The BMW G310 GS is an adventure tourer motorcycle which is now priced at Rs 2.85 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. This came in as a surprise when BMW reduced the price of the G 310 R in the BS6 avatar. At the new price, the bike suddenly started feeling as a capable contender in the 300cc bikes segment.

The G310GS offers hardware for off-roading and highway touring. You get long travel suspension at both ends. The golden USD forks are present at the front and at the rear a monoshock does the job. At the rear, you get a 17-inch wheel wrapped with a 150-section dual purpose tyre.
At the core of G310 GS is a liquid-cooled, 313 cc, reversed inclined, single cylinder engine with a 4-valve head. This fuel injected BS6 powerplant produces 33.5 bhp of max power at 9250 rpm and 28 Nm torque at 7500 rpm. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox for reduction duties. On performance front, the G310R does a sprint of 0-100 kmph in under 7 seconds with a company claimed top speed of 143 kmph with speedo-indicated top speed going up to 163 kmph. The kerb weight of the bike is around 170 kg which is manageable for most riders. The seat height is 835 mm with option for 820 mm low seat and 850 mm high seat.
In the upgraded avatar, the G310 GS gets full LED lighting and slipper clutch for addition convenience and safety. Kawasaki Ninja 300
The next bike is Kawasaki Ninja 300. It is the dream bike for many riders because of its sporty stance and Ninja moniker. It is however more expensive than the RC 390 but features a twin-cylinder engine. At present, the Ninja 300R is priced at Rs 3.4 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi which is still relevant for a sporty twin-cylinder sports bike.
Powering the all-new BS6 Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 296cc, parallel-twin, multi-port fuel injected, 8-valve DOHC engine. This mill gets dual throttle bodies for precision throttle control which is derived from the bigger Ninjas and helps in the production of 38.88 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 26.1 Nm torque at 10,000 rpm. If you have noticed, the torque is down by 0.9 Nm which will definitely affect the initial acceleration and roll-on acceleration of the bike in the real-world riding scenarios. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox.
With added catalytic convertor and certain components to make the engine meet BS6 emission norms, the new Ninja 300R tips the scale at 179 kg a generous increase of 5 kg from the previous BS4 version of the bike. We expect the new machine to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 6.5 second and manage to hit a top speed of 170 kmph. It is still made to perform and bring smile on the face of the riders.
Coming to the segment in which it rests, the new Ninja 300R is a sports tourer increased of a full-fledged track machine because of comfier riding posture. Yes, the handlebars are clip-on type but are raised to a fairly high level allowing the rider to lean forward but only up to a level where it is comfortable to hold for long time. The seat is also comfortable and offers more than sufficient space for both rider and the pillion.
The company has ensured that engine heat from the radiator does not fry p the legs of the rider and the heat is vented to out away from the rider’s legs. This makes it a perfect city commuter as well. A tall visor at the front and full fairing around the bike deflects the high-speed wind-blast away from the rider’s head which improves the saddle time and the cruising speed. Speaking about the cruising speed, the bike has enough power to be ridden at 100 to 120 kmph all day long without tiring the rider.
On the dashboard, you’ll find the same old analogue-digital instrument cluster that offers a large central tachometer and a small LCD screen for rest of the details like speed, odometer, trip meters and fuel gauge. On one side where the new manufacturers are offering TFT display with connectivity features, the Ninja’s old meter console doesn’t go well with the new generation of riders and the market they step in.
However, the popularity and the essence of the Ninja lineage of bikes continues to remain the same and the lovers of the Ninja 300 will get one no matter what the conditions and features are.
The Ninja 300 is built around rigid diamond type frame that offers great handling characteristics. It features telescopic forks at the front and a bottom link Uni-Trak monoshock suspension with gas reservoir and 5-step preload adjustment at the rear. This setup is tuned to provide a balanced ride and handling to the bike making it easy to take around the corners with solid stability on the highway rides as well as ability to absorb undulations on the broken patches of roads.
The hardware which is present on the Ninja 300 to bring it back from menacing speeds are 290 mm front disc gripped by a two-piston calliper at the front and a 220 mm disc brake unit with single piston calliper at the rear. Rider safety is offered by a dual-channel ABS which manages to keep tyres from skidding on the loose gravel or wet surface.

Keeway V302C
Keeway is a cruiser bike recently launched by Keeway in India. Keeway is a Hungarian motorcycle manufacturer which entered into the Indian market with sales and service network through Benelli India. The company priced the V302C at Rs 3.89 lakh ex-showroom which seems to be on the higher side when compared from the performance numbers.
Keeway V302C comes in three paint schemes – Glossy Grey, Glossy Black and Glossy Red. Out of the three, Glossy Red might make you stand apart from the crowd.
A seat height of 690 mm is low enough for any rider to easily ride and balance in any situation. With a typical low-slung cruiser style, lower seat height and essence of a heavy-weight bike makes the V302C promising. The design would remind you of something from the house of Harley Davidson or so.
Powering this machine is a 298cc, V-twin, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 8-valve engine. It produces a max power of 29.1 bhp at 8500 rpm and 26.5 Nm twisting force at 6500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is attached to the motor and sends power to the rear wheel via a belt drive unit. Yes, Keeway V302C becomes the cheapest bike to come with a belt-drive unit.
Expect a fuel efficiency of around 28-30 kmpl on an average day. With a 15-litre fuel tank, one can cover a distance of around 400-420 km with relative easy.
The instrument cluster is a single-pod unit will all the essential information for rider. V302C rides on telescopic fork at the front and twin-shock absorbers with hydraulic dampers at the rear. Braking is handled by 300 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and the rear respectively.
