The Trident is specifically developed for the emerging markets like India and China where the demand of middle-weight bikes is rising with every passing year.

Speaking about the price, the Trident is relatively cheaper for an inline triple-cylinder engine pumping out over 80 horses of power. The bike is compact and made for fun riding in the city limits. It is a two-seater motorcycle with a small pillion seat which is good only for city rides and pillion won’t be comfortable on long rides.

It gets a saddle height of 805 mm which is just fine for mid-height riders to taller riders but same cannot be said about the shorter riders. Rider under 5 feet 6 inches might feel it hard to stay confident in the uneven paths, inclines and declines and on the parking lots. Coming to the fuel efficiency, the Trident can manage about 20 kmpl in missed riding conditions. The mileage of the highways can be a little extra. Under hard acceleration and performance stints, the mileage from this machine will be too low. A 14-litre fuel tank capacity can cover up to 280 km from a single tankful.
As you settle on the saddle, you are greeted with a fully-digital single-pod instrument cluster which provides information like speedometer, a bar-type tachometer, odometer, trip meters, instantaneous fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, gear position indicator, a digital clock and more. There are two ride modes – Rain and Road which offers different settings of the ABS for safer rides over wet and slippery surface.
The Trident is built around a steel perimeter frame is light in weight and also provides greater rigidity around the corners. It gets a double-sided swing-arm which is made of fabricated steel. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends wrapped with 120/70-R17 at the front and 180/55-R17 at the rear. Both the tyres are tubeless and Radials for greater performance and convenience.
On the suspension front, the bike features Showa 41 mm USD separate function forks at the front and a Showa sourced monoshock unit with preload adjustment. At the rear, you get a 255 mm single floating disc gripped by Nissin single-piston calliper. Rider safety is provided by a dual-channel ABS which enhances the braking safety under extreme circumstances and on slippery surface.

Bonneville Bobber comes in many colours – Matt Storm Grey with Matt Ironstone, Jet Black, Red Hopper, Cordovan Red and Chrome with Jet Black. The price of standard colours is Rs 12.35 lakh ex-showroom while the Chrome edition will set you back by Rs 12.85 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi.
Coming to the ergonomics, the Bobber features a cantilever type single seat which rests on top of the mid-mounted monoshock suspension. The best part is that the seat is adjustable for angle and the rider can set it according to his/her requirement. On the flatter side, the riding posture is classic bobber like and when the seat is lifted up the rider can feel the aggressive stance of riding this classic factory bobber. This difference is at 10 mm and the low and high setting of seat is 690 and 700 mm respectively.
Moving on to the engine, the Bonneville Bobber is propelled by a four-stroke, 1200cc, twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 8-valve head and 270-degree crank angle for butter smooth engine. This classic twin manages to put out 75.7 bhp at 6000 rpm and 103.9 Nm torque at 4522 rpm. This kind of power if more than enough to raise every hair on the skin after opening the throttle. There is a 6-speed gearbox which is paired with the engine via a wet multi-plate clutch with torque assist for lighter feel.
It takes around 5 seconds to hit the 100 kmph mark from then on, the bike has enough grunt to achieve a top speed of 190 kmph. For highway runs, keep the cruise control at 100 kmph and enjoy the ride to the fullest.
Speaking about the fuel economy, the Bobber can easily return about 21 kmpl in mixed riding conditions and highway mileage of around 22-23 kmpl if ridden at a constant speed. While riding on the sluggish city environment, not more than 18-19 kmpl should be expect from a classic cruiser. Being a city-oriented motorcycle, the 2021 Bobber has a slightly larger 12-litre fuel tank which means it can manage a riding range of only up to 250 km with a stretch.
On the dashboard, you get a single piece instrument cluster that offers a wide of information for the ride to digest while still keeping the classic touch. There are two ride modes, multi-level traction control, ride by wire technology, electronics cruise control, engine immobiliser, LED headlight with DRLs.
The wheels are both 16-inch in diameter with spokes rims for classic appeal, thick profile tyres, the mid-mounted monoshock, low-slung stance, wide handlebars, stripped back design offer distinct hardtail look. With twin-skin exhaust and peashooter mufflers, the bike offers distinctive classic bobber soundtrack which is another reason that riders love this machine.
It features fat 47 mm front telescopic forks from Showa with fork gaiters and a monoshock suspension with linkage at the rear. The suspension is on the stiffer side as the wheel travel of the rear is just 90 mm making it only good for smooth roads and must be avoided on the bad patches of roads.
Coming to the braking system, the bike gets twin 310 mm discs gripped by Brembo 2-piston Brembo callipers at the front and a 255 mm rear disc is gripped by single piston callipers. The rider is kept safe by dual-channel ABS.

Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster
Developed on the platform of the Bonneville Bobber is the Bonneville Speedmaster. It is a classic cruiser made for ruling over the highway roads going to unknown regions for you to explore. Keeping the retro beauty and charm, the Speedmaster has all the latest equipment and components to make rides safer and more enjoyable.
Starting with the price, the Bonneville Speedmaster starts from Rs 12.35 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi and is available in four colour shades. The most affordable colour is the Jet-Black and Cordovan Red the price of which has been already told. The next is the Sapphire Black and Fusion Grey and Chrome with Diablo Red paint which carries a price tag of Rs 12.85 lakh ex-showroom.
The low-slung design of the Speedmaster and scooped rider seat allows for a comfortable and laid-back riding posture. It comes with round headlight with full LED lighting and LED DRLs for contemporary appeal. Like the Bobber, the Speedmaster also features 16-inch spoked wheels with thick profile tyres.
Powering the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster, there is a 1200cc, inline two-cylinder, four-stroke, 8-valve, liquid-cooled engine. A 6-speed gearbox is attached to the powerplant via a sip and assist clutch.
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster dashes from 0 to 100 kmph in under 5 seconds and goes on to touch a top speed of 190 kmph. This is too much for a cruiser in our opinion. For highway touring, the bike can be maintained at 100 kmph for full day without any issue. The new model now comes with liquid-cooled engine and still keeps the retro charm by adding air-cooling fins outside the cylinders.
On the fuel efficiency front, Speedmaster can deliver around 21 to 22 kmpl on the highway rides with city mileage dropping under 20 kmpl. Despite made for cruising, the bike only has 12-litre fuel tank capacity which is low for long hauls. Expect only about 250 km of range from a single tankful before you require tanking up.
The modern-day cruiser from the house of Triumph is only equipped with a single pod instrument console with analogue speedometer and a small LCD panel for rest of the information. There are two ride modes – Road and Rain, Anti-lock braking system and Traction control for safer launches and braking.
A pair of telescopic forks is present at the front and a monoshock with link handling the rear suspension. It is a well-rounded suspension system offering right amount of comfort and stability.
