Speaking about the price range 500cc bikes in India – the most affordable 500cc bike in India is priced at Rs 2.69 lakh whereas top-of-the-line bike carries a price tag of Rs 6.30 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi.
We have included the ex-showroom price of the bikes mentioned in this list as RTO tax and bike insurance are different in different states of the country. You have to pay the taxes while registering the bikes for general use. Let’s dive into the best 500cc bikes in India which are currently on sale in India.
The first bike in this list is the newly launched QJ Motor SRC 500. It is a classic cruiser from the Chinese manufacturer and is squarely targeted at the cruiser category. Previously there was Royal Enfield Classic 500 which would be the direct rival to the SRC 500 but the bike has been discontinued and will be replaced by more powerful Classic 650 in the future.
At present, there is no direct rival of the QJ Motor SRC 500 but second most expensive bike in the classic series is the Benelli Imperiale 400. It comes in three colours shades – Silver Black which is priced at Rs 2.69 lakh, Gold Black and Red White colours carries a price tag of Rs 2.79 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi.
Powering the SRC 500 is a 480cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 2-valve, SOHC engine. This motor makes mild 25.15 bhp of max power at 5750 rpm and 36 Nm torque comes up at 4250 rpm. A 5-speed gearbox is attached to the engine via a wet multi-plate clutch. Expect the engine to perform best in the mid-range as it is a long-stroke engine. Riding around the town should not be a problem.
The kerb weight of 205 kg is on the heavier side when compared to the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350 but it is similar to the Imperiale 400 from Benelli.
Coming to the mileage front, the bike might deliver around 30 kmpl of mileage considering its engine capacity, power output and the kerb weight. The running cost would be better than rest of the bikes listed on this article though. However, high petrol price might make you think twice before finalising a bike in this segment.
Speaking about the instrument cluster, the bike gets twin-pod fully digital meters. These units offer almost all the data that a rider needs in the console including gear-position indicator. All the switches are placed at the right places to ensure good reach for the riders.
SRC 500 is suspended on telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers with hydraulic damper. Since, this bike is made for long distance riding; the suspension is also expected to be plush or well-balanced for day-to-day riding without jerks.
Braking department is taken care of by 300 mm front disc brake and 240 mm rear disc brake. A dual-channel ABS is available as standard equipment that will make the riders safer when using brakes under emergency situations.

The next bike on this list of new Benelli bikes in India, we have the Benelli Leoncino 500. It is the star of the show when it comes to the affordable and capable middle-weight naked machine. In the Italian lingo, the term Leoncino translates into ‘Lion’s cub’ and thus the bike is named so. The Leoncino brand retraces its steps back to the 125cc Leoncino scrambler launched in the 1960s.
It is a sporty naked machine fitted with a powerful yet efficiency 500cc twin-cylinder engine. There is a round-shaped full LED headlight that can properly illuminate the roads at night. One can make out the fact that it is a comfortable bike to ride as it comes with well-sorted ergonomics, a well-padded and spacious seat. The handlebar is positioned a bit raised for the rider to hold them without leaning over. There are two colour options are available on the Leoncino 500 which are Red and Silver.
When coming to the international markets, Benelli has many different variants of the Leoncino available there. One of them is the same bike which is launched in India and other includes a scrambler styled bike with spoked wheels for mild off-road use. Priced at Rs 5.55 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi, the Leoncino 500 is an affordable machine for the features and technology it offers.
The Benelli Leoncino 500 draws its power from a twin-cylinder, 500cc, liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine that breathes through an 8-valve head. The maximum power this engine churns out is 46.8 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 46 Nm is available at 6000 rpm. The BS6 version also delivers same amount of power and torque as its BS4 counterpart. There is enough grunt and no sluggishness is felt from the new engine. The exhaust system used in the bike is a 2 to 1 unit which allows the engine to sound like an inline four-cylinder unit at higher engine speeds.
There is a 6-speed gearbox paired with the engine connected via wet multi-plate clutch. It comes with well-spaced gear ratios that won’t let the fun fade in the city as well as on the highways. This engine and gearbox combination shoots the bike from zero to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds with the bike reaching a top speed of around 160 kmph.
Coming to the fuel efficiency, the Leoncino 500 is able to return around 23 to 24 kmpl of mileage in city riding conditions with over 25 kmpl is easily achievable for long distance touring on the highways. With a 12.7 litres capacity of the fuel tank, you can ride for about 350 km on highways before needing a refuel. The riding range reduces in the city to below 300 km which is not that bad but a larger fuel tank would be appreciated.
As mentioned earlier, the Leoncino 500 offers upright riding posture which ensures comfortable ride over long distances, hence if you want, you can tour on the scrambler-styled bike and explore the unknown regions. The headlight, taillight as well as turn indicators are all LED units making it an appealing bike in terms of features.
As you get on the saddle, you will be welcomed by a fully-digital instrument cluster of funky design. You get to see a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, gear position indicator and more. There is also engine coolant temperature and ambient temperature readout as well.
Coming to the suspension and tyres department, the Leoncino 500 is suspended on 50 mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear with preload and rebound adjustability. This setup is tuned to behave a bit odd as the front forks are softer and the rear setup is stiff sending unwanted jolts from the road undulations.
It comes with a pretty robust braking setup with twin 320 mm discs fitted at the front that are gripped by 4-piston callipers for sharp braking. At the rear, you get a single 260 mm disc brake gripped by single-piston calliper. The braking system is accompanied by a dual-channel ABS keeping the rider safe under hard braking scenarios and slippery surface.
If you are looking for a bike in the middle-weight segment which is both affordable, quick off the line, fuel efficient as well as comfortable for both city and the highway use, the Benelli Leoncino 500 could be the bike you are searching for.

Up next, we have the adventure tourer machine from the house of Benelli in the form of TRK 502. It is based on the TRK platform that has the ability to take on the long roads and also a little bit of off-road runs. However, the TRK 502 is made only for road touring as it gets road biased tyres with smaller front tyre diameter and not so long travel suspension.
Benelli TRK 502 is priced at Rs 5.7 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi, and offers you a beefy adventure tourer bike looks and getup. There is no doubt that the TRK is not a looker of a machine. Comparing to other adventure bikes in the middle-weight segment, the TRK 502 offers high value for money quotient and capable performance. One cannot miss this bike in the middle-weight segment if looking for a touring bike.
It comes with a quarter fairing and a tall windshield visor that not only helps in deflecting the windblast at higher speeds but also keeps bike stable and unmoved due to cross winds. There is a spacious and well-padded seat providing ample space for rider to adjust during the rides by keeping fatigue away and fun all the way. The handlebar and footpegs are judiciously placed for creating a perfect rider triangle for utmost comfort on the run.
TRK 502 gets three colours to choose from – Benelli Red, Pure White and Metallic Dark Grey.
Powering the TRK 502 is the same engine that we have seen on the Leoncino 500. The twin-cylinder, 500cc, liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine breathes through an 8-valve head and belts out max power of 46.8 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 46 Nm comes up at 6000 rpm. There is a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox mated to the powerplant via a wet multi-plate clutch. The gearing is well-spaced for better highway rideability. The exhaust muffle is nicely tucked under the belly of the bike.
Benelli TRK 500 weighs in at 235 kg which is on the higher side when comparing to other adventure bikes in the middle-weight segment. With this heft, the TRK 502 can hit 100 kmph in just 7 seconds and the engine can pull the bike to a top speed of 160 kmph or so. Out on the highways, you can ride at 100 kmph all day long without any issue of engine overheating or hand numbing due to vibrations.
For an adventure tourer, it is very important to be fuel efficient especially when it is positioned as an affordable middle-weight tourer. The TRK 502 can return a mileage of up to 28 kmpl on the highways and when coupled to a large 20-litre fuel tank, it can go well over 500 km in a single tankful of petrol. Coming back in the city limits, expect the bike to give no more than 23 or 24 kmpl which is still arguable for a bike of this size and heft.
Unlike the Leoncino, where you get a fully-digital instrument cluster, the TRK only offers a semi-digital meter console with white analogue tachometer and an LCD screen for rest of the information. There is a speedometer, odometer, trip meters, digital clock, fuel gauge, engine temperature gauge among other indicators. In our opinion, the BS6 version of the TRK 502 should have comes with full coloured TFT monitor with Bluetooth connectivity and trip computer for easy touring.
Other components that make it a proper adventure tourer are a high beak, aluminium knuckle protectors, engine guard, frame guard, provision for saddlebags and panniers for carrying extra luggage over long distances. All these accessories are a must have feature on any adventure bike that you might buy.
The front suspension are USD forks and monoshock at the rear. This setup is well-balanced for highway touring and offers great stability at higher speeds without making ride too stiff to enjoy. The rear monoshock suspension gets preload and rebound adjustability.
There are twin 320 mm disc brakes fitted at the front end that are gripped by 4-piston callipers whereas at the rear, you get to see a single 260 mm disc brake unit. Connected to the system is a dual-channel ABS for safer braking performance under extreme circumstances.
If you are looking for a proper adventure tourer that is available at a considerably affordable price tag, then Benelli TRK 502 is the bike to go with.

Next 500cc bike is the Honda CB500X which is an adventure tourer bike from the premium brand and it is designed for riding over long distances. However, one can also use the bike for mild off-roading as well thanks to its stable frame and lower-centre of gravity.
An affordable and reasonable price tag of Rs 5.79 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi puts the CB500X against the adventure bikes from Benelli. On the other hand, the Kawasaki Versys 650 carries a steep price tag after the update.
Speaking about the powertrain, the CB500X is powered by a liquid-cooled, 471.03cc, parallel-twin, fuel injected engine breathing through an 8-valve head. This mill churns out 46.93 bhp of max power at 8500 rpm and 43.2 Nm torque at 6500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox attends to the transmission requests from the engine and is connected to the engine via a slipper clutch.
Being an adventure tourer bike, the CB500X is pretty light in weight at just 199 kg. Along with compact dimensions and low centre of gravity, this simple looking bike does a great job on and off the road. It gets two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
It comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with all the important information for the rider. There is LED lighting all around for premium appeal. The ergonomics are spot-on with flat and well-padded seat for both the rider and the pillion.
One can expect a mileage of 25 kmpl on the highway rides and a tad above 22 kmpl on the city roads. Over 440 km of range can be achieved on the new Honda CB500X which is more than sufficient for highway touring.
It comes with 19-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and the rear respectively with dual-purpose tyres making it a mild off-road motorcycle. The telescopic fork at the front and linked type monoshock at the rear are tuned perfectly to deal with all kind of terrain and keep the bike and the rider stable under all conditions.

Now we have the Benelli 502C. It is a low-slung power cruiser from the house of Benelli and its design is inspired from Ducati Diavel. There are two colour options available on the Benelli power cruiser – matte black and Purple. The Purple colour offers the road presence this bike attracts from the other road users. It is a great middle weight motorcycle for short riders as its seat height is 750 mm.
Speaking about the design, the bike has minimalistic design with most of the paint area taken up by the humongous fuel tank. The handlebars are laid back and the rider comfortably grips them with completely upright riding posture which allows for long distance touring without frequent stops in between due to exhaustion. You get to see an exposed blacked-out trellis frame running under the fuel tank which is commanding look. Rider seat is a scooped one with ribs for providing a comfortable padding. The pillion seat is there but only large enough for little kids at max.
The rear section of the bike is minimal and features a separate registration plate holder on the tyre hugger. You get LED tail-light and LED turn indicators with strips of LEDs for a unique look. The headlight cluster is full LED unit and houses LED DRLs for greater appeal. There are three paint schemes are available on the 502C – Matte Black, Purple and Glossy Black.
The powertrain of the Benelli 502C comprised of a parallel-twin, 500cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-stroke, 8-valve DOHC engine. This engine generates max power of 46.8 bhp at 8500 rpm and 46 Nm twisting force at 6000 rpm. It gets a 6-speed transmission that easily handles the transmission duties.
In terms of performance, the 0-60 kmph is achieved in 2.8 second and 0 to 100 kmph timing is set at 6.4 seconds. The top speed of the 502C is pegged at 160 kmph which is adequate for the power the engine makes. If you are thinking about cruising on the highways, the perfect cruising speed is in the range of 80 to 100 kmph which also returns commendable fuel efficiency.
The large fuel tank not only looks big, it has the volume to hold 21 litres of fuel at once and when combined with an average highway mileage of 25 kmpl, you can cover up to 525 km with just one tankful of petrol. However, theoretically speaking, the mileage can even go up to 30 kmpl if the rider is conscious about the throttle and the bike speed. This way, there is a possibility that the 502C can run for 600 km with 21 litres of petrol that is like full day worth of riding.
On the dashboard, you get to see a full colour TFT instrument cluster but it only offers the basic range of data including speed, total distance covered, trip meters, fuel gauge and so on. This console misses out on the features like average and instant fuel consumption, distance to empty and Bluetooth connectivity feature.
On the suspension segment, the bike is hung on USD forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear which is adjustable for pre-load. This setup is tuned towards a stiffer side and therefore, the bike is highly stable around the corners because of minimum change in bike’s geometry. This leads to unsettling and uncomfortable rides over the broken patches of roads and the rider will have to slow down the bike to avoid the jolts of the roads. The wheelbase is gigantic at 1600 mm taking it to the Diavel’s segment and might cause problems while manoeuvring on the tight city roads and traffic-clad roads.
With a kerb weight of 235 kg, Benelli 502C seriously needed a powerful braking hardware and it gets right what it needs in the form of twin 320 mm front disc brakes and a 260 mm rear disc brake unit. A dual-channel ABS is available for providing safety net to the rider.

Finally, we have the Benelli TRK 502X. It is a full-fledged off-road avatar of the TRK 502 about which we just talked in the previous section. The Benelli TRK 502X comes with longer travel suspension setup at both ends along with a larger front wheel and many other off-road related features and equipment that makes the TRK 502X a capable off-road adventure to have in your garage.
Priced at only Rs 6.30 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi, the TRK 502X is now the most expensive in this list of 500cc bikes in India. The platform on the TRK 502X is similar to that of the TRK 502 but it comes with enhanced off-road components to deal with the tough terrains.
Available in four colours – Grey, Red, Yellow and White, the TRK 502X gets highest range of colours on any Benelli bike.
The added features on the bike are larger 19-inch front wheel and regular 17-inch wheel at the rear Both the rims are steel spoke units slapped with tubed-type tyres of dual-purpose treads. The dual-purpose rubber offers greater grip in off-the-road terrains, gravel, mud, sand etc. Greater off-road impacts can be easily handled by the spoke rims and protects the rims from breakage under large impact forces.
The exhaust muffler is up-swept keeping it away from the ground and thus ensures safety and proper protection of the exhaust end-can. There is an aluminium bash plate that keeps your engine block safe during off-road stints. The longer-travel off-road ready suspension has increased the ground clearance of the bike to 220 mm which is on-par with the segment.
Larger front fairing and taller visor offers protection against the high-speed windblast on the highway’s rides. Speaking about the riding posture and comfort, the bike comes with spacious and well-padded rider’s seat with ergonomically positioned handlebar and footpegs allowing rider to stand on footpegs and still have great control on the bike in the off-road trails.
There is a 499cc, parallel twin, liquid-cooled, fuel injected, 8-valve engine propelled the TRK 502X. This mill churns out 46.85 bhp of power at 8500 rpm and 46 Nm torque at 6000 rpm. The kerb weight of the bike remains similar to the TRK 502 at 235 kg and also performs well for its engine capacity.
On the mileage front, you can derive a fuel efficiency of around 23 kmpl in the city limits which can climb up to 28 kmpl on the highway rides. It comes installed with a large 20-litre fuel tank which when coupled with an average mileage of over 25 kmpl provides a tank range of over 500 km. This kind of exceptional range makes it an ideal machine to munch those miles without worrying about the fuel stops.
The suspension setup on the TRK 502X is comprised of USD forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear with preload and rebound adjustability. This setup comes with longer wheel travel and is well-tuned to absorb shocks of the rough and uneven terrains where this bike is made to run.
The braking duties are performed by twin-320 mm disc brake units at the front and single 260 mm disc brake unit at the rear. There is a dual-channel ABS which completes the system but it could have been a switchable ABS for better off-road control.
