How To Transfer A Car’s Ownership To The Buyer In Case Of Normal Sale?

How To Transfer A Vehicle’s Ownership Offline In Kolkata?

• Step 1: Firstly, the applicant or the seller prepares a selling agreement. In this selling agreement, the applicant needs to mention details about the registration certificate, details about insurance certificate, driving license, payment mode, the status of the ownership transfer, the buyer’s valid id proof (if required), the permanent address (if required), and the selling conditions.
• Step 2: Now, fill out the RTO forms 20,27,33 (for re-registration),28 (in case you need to issue NOC), and 29 (if the RTO is different) and sign them. 
• Step 3: Next, submit the documents (current address proof of the seller (PAN, Voter, or Aadhar card), copy of the current registration certificate, a copy of driving license (if required), id proof of the buyer, address proof of the applicant (Voter, PAN or Aadhar card), toll tax calculator (if required), Pollution Under Control certificate, insurance certificate) 
• Step 4: Now, the applicant or buyer must pay the road tax. 
• Step 5: Once the road tax payment is complete, the RTO office will send an acknowledgement form to the applicant. Please keep it safe.
• Step 6: Once you pay the road tax, pay the required registration fee to get the new Registration certificate.
• Step 7: After the completion of the payment, the RTO office will verify the documents.

• Step 1: Firstly, open the official website of ParivahanSewa.
• Step 2: Select the Online Services option. 
• Step 3: Click on the Vehicle-Related Services option.  
• Step 4: Next, enter your vehicle’s registration number.
• Step 5: Click on Proceed.
• Step 6: Now, click on the Misc (TO/CoA/HPA/HPS/HPT/DupRC).
• Step 7: Next, enter your phone number.
• Step 8: Now, tap on the generate OTP button to generate OTP.
• Step 9: Now, enter the OTP after generating it. 
• Step 10: Now, select the Show Details option. 
• Step 11: After tapping on the Show Details option, you will get the Application Selection option. Select that.

• Step 15: Once you complete the payment, keep the soft copies of the payment receipt, the RTO forms, and the payment receipt saved on your device. 
• Step 16: Print them out and sign on them.
• Step 17: Now, submit the filled-out RTO forms, a copy of the vehicle’s current registration certificate, Pollution Under Control certificate, insurance certificate, and driving license to the RTO office. 
• Step 18: After the completion of the payment procedure, the RTO office starts verifying the documents.
• Step 19: Once the RTO is done with the verification; the new owner receives the soft copy of the new registration certificate via email or post within fifteen days.

Transfer Of Ownership On Death Of The Owner Of The Vehicle:

• Step 4: Now, pay the road tax.

• Step 1: First, the seller or the applicant must fill out RTO forms 20,27,30,33 (for re-registration, Form 28 (in case of an interstate vehicle ownership transfer), and Form 29 (if the RTO is different).
