Top variant of iQube, i.e., iQube ST has a marginally higher top speed of 82 kmph. These numbers make it quicker as some other 125cc scooters but the top speed is in the range of most 110cc scooters which is not bad either considering the fact that this scooter is made to run only in the city limits.

The battery pack on the new TVS iQube is a 3.75 kWh battery pack placed under the foot-board and also under the seat. Under the foot-board, battery keeps the centre of gravity a lot lower providing great stability to the scooter. iQube and iQube S provides real-world range of 100 km per charge while the iQube ST with its larger 4.5 kWh battery will provide 145 km of real-world range. TVS Raider 125 gets sporty split seat and both the rider and the pillion seats are spacious that will allow the ride and the pillion to be in comfort on long city rides or even on weekend getaways. Moving on to the engine, the TVS Raider 125 gets an all-new 124.8cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, 3-valve SOHC engine which is fuelled by eco-thrust fuel injection system. The engine is super refined and you cannot find any vibration from idling to the red-line. It also gets oil-cooling system with multiple fins in the lower part of the engine and the behind the clutch cover. It eliminates the need of separate oil-cooling system. The powerplant belts out respectable 11.2 bhp of maximum power at 7500 rpm and peak torque of 11.2 Nm comes up at 6000 rpm. These numbers might look too great but remember that the kerb weight of the bike stands at just 123 kg which is a tad higher than some of the heaviest 110cc bikes from prominent bike makers in the country. Raider’s chief rival, the Pulsar 125 and the NS 125 are the heaviest bikes in 125cc segment and their higher power output is negated by their heft.

In terms of performance, the Raider 125 comes with a claimed 0 to 60 kmph timing of 5.9 seconds which touches some of the 150cc bikes’ acceleration timing. TVS also claims a top speed of 99 kmph which would be over 100 kmph on the digital speedometer the bike comes with. All-in-all, TVS Raider 125 will be the best performing bike in the 125cc segment, leaving off-course the KTMs.

The Apache maker has positioned the bike to be a sporty commuter and thus, it must deliver on the aspect of fuel efficiency. As per the ARAI test, the Raider 125 delivers a mileage of 67 kmpl in strict test conditions which will surely come down to about 57 to 60 kmpl in mixed riding conditions. Even at these numbers, you can get a reasonably low running cost on this 125cc bike. It comes with a 10-litre fuel tank that has the ability to let you ride for over 550 km before needing a refuel.

Now, let’s move to the features department. TVS Raider 125 is the most feature-rich 125cc bike on sale in India. For starters, the bike gets a fully digital reverse LCD display which offers a range of information including digital speedometer, bar-type digital tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, average fuel consumption, range, gear position indicator with shift up and shift down indicators, display for eco and power modes, digital clock, top speed recorder and maybe even more.

An USB socket is present at the front side of the fuel tank which can charge your smartphone on the go. All you have to do is attach a smartphone pocket on the tank to secure your mobile phone while charging. The right switch-gear has a large switch which can be used to toggle between Eco and Power mode of the bike. Rest all the switches offer usual functioning to the rider. All that is missing from the switchgear in the engine kill switch.

The Power mode provides 10% more top speed while the Eco mode has been tuned to provide more kilometres per litre of fuel. There is intelligent start-stop system which is activated in the Eco mode which turns of the engine during prolonged idling and restarts with a slight twist on the throttle.

It is among that handful of bikes in the 125cc segment that offers a monoshock at the rear. Yes, the Raider 125 gets a gas-charged monoshock with 5-step pre-load adjustability.
